The 90-acre north expansion of Nike World Headquarters includes four office buildings, a conference center, athletic facilities, a daycare center and a parking structure. Given its high profile as the headquarters office, the grounds of the Nike campus closely reflect the philosophy and high corporate values of the company. Employees are encouraged to cultivate inter-departmental social relationships in a variety of creative outdoor environments. Employees and visitors alike enjoy the central event plaza, several dining terraces, green pedestrian corridors and special gardens with seasonal interest. At the heart of the campus, two soccer fields provide flexible open space for tournaments, practice and events. A putting green, sand volleyball court, and perimeter running trail are used for intramural company sports. The 400-meter track is intended to inspire some of the world’s most gifted athletes.
Preservation of existing woodlands and creek corridor was key in the framework for site planning, building locations and landscape design. As part of the sustainability program, Mayer/Reed prepared plans for landscape conservation and preservation. Nineteen acres of constructed wetlands were developed as a part of the campus stormwater management system and enhanced wildlife habitat throughout the campus.
