To serve a growing community, Providence Health System replaced its facilities in Newberg, Oregon with a new $58 million hospital and medical offices complex. As part of an architect-led team, Mayer/Reed designed the site which features terraced courtyards for socializing as well as spaces for quiet reflection. A curved pathway lined in donor recognition pavers leads to a small grove of trees with seating. The firm also designed vehicular entries, internal access road, parking, building entries and pedestrian circulation. Mayer/Reed assisted civil engineers with design of storm water facilities which contributed to the Providence Newberg becoming the first LEED Gold Certified hospital in the country.
