Portland State University’s former Neuberger Hall reopened with a new name, Fariborz Maseeh Hall after a transformative renovation. As part of the landscape architecture, Mayer/Reed designed an entry plaza oriented toward the adjacent South Park Blocks. The plaza features a custom “super amenity” that we call the Social Jetty, crafted of steel and ipe hardwood. We designed the 77 ft. long structure with places to sit, dine, study and converse outside of the pedestrian flow. Mayer/Reed also designed the interior and exterior signage.
