Located near Reser Stadium and the athletics district of the OSU campus, the Beth Ray Center for Academic Support offers student athletes special assistance in the academic realm. Faculty of the center counsel athletes on time management and study habits while also pursuing athletic objectives and interests. The context of the site and adjacent uses revealed opportunities to make this facility an important hub on campus. Mayer/Reed designed the pedestrian connections and plaza spaces outside the new center so that connections to other nearby facilities are smooth. Several seating areas and a sunken courtyard offer students outdoor environments for gathering and socializing. A small ecoroof provides a green buffer around an upper level study deck.
