During the renovation of the Belluschi Building in 1998 and the Hoffman Wing in 2000, Mayer/Reed assisted the Portland Art Museum with wayfinding and signage. A new room identity, directory and wayfinding system incorporates glass panels and bronze brackets. Signage for the named donor spaces and galleries is updated with a consistent typography. Exterior wayfinding for the museum’s three entries is enhanced by three monolithic illuminated, stainless steel and glass kiosks in the courtyard area.
